John started work in the Financial Services industry in 1992. In 1994 John established Carrwood Barker which became the largest provider of Independent Financial advice to Accountants.

In 2005 the business was sold to Lighthouse Group PLC, the UK’s largest Wealth Management Group, and John became a Main Board Director of the PLC.

In early 2008 John left to launch Pareto with a vision to provide both quality advice and service to Corporates and Individuals.

John provides direct advice to a number of high profile clients and also acts as lead adviser, to support other Pareto advisers, on a number of large Employee Benefit Projects.

John was awarded an MBE for his support for cancer charities in the New Year Honours list. John’s fundraising efforts have helped raise more than £1 million for Beechwood Cancer Care.
