Challenge

UHY Hacker Young is a national group of accountants with 540 staff across 22 offices. Their Manchester office is one of the largest accountancy practices in the city, providing partner-led accountancy services to a wide range of owner-managed local, national and international businesses. UHY prides itself on its diverse skill base, enabling them to offer a broad range of services such as audit, accounting and business advisory services, as well as providing clients with access to specialist technical advice. To further supplement this UHY sought a financial planning partner to support their clients’ business and personal planning needs.

Solution

Pareto and UHY worked closely together to identify and recruit an experienced adviser best suited to advise their client base and to fit in with their unique culture. In 2015 an adviser was employed to work with existing UHY owner-managed business clients.

Results

The financial planning service is now fully integrated into the UHY proposition. A second Pareto-employed adviser has joined the UHY team. The advisers are well-versed in how UHY work and are very much part of our team. Clients have enjoyed the benefits of their accountant and financial adviser collaborating in their best interests, contributing to a growing income stream for UHY and strengthening client relationships.
